Damage Control Petty Officer (DCPO) Evals


As Departmental DCPO and TSCE Maintainer, IT3 accomplished over 100 PMS checks, including 9 spot checks. Because of his keen attention to detail and pride of ownership, none of his completed tasks required rework. Petty Officer Venegas inventoried and maintained over $5M worth of ADP equipment. His dedication enabled 89 shipboard personnel and over 30 contractors to utilize network resources during FREEDOM's maiden deployment with Seventh Fleet. Maintained over 30 communication paths between U.S. and seven foreign Navies. Spreading the word about LCS, IT3 volunteered to spend CARAT Malaysia onboard the USS CURTIS WILBUR acting as LCS Communications Liason with CTG 73.1., explaining the differences and capabilites of the LCS Communications Suite.




As DCPO for CG Division, FC2 Lopez completed 183 maintenance checks, helping maintain Farragut Damage Control Readiness. As maintenance man for CG02, he completed 88 checks and assisted in troubleshooting and repairing 4 DEPOT level repairs for the MK 46 OSS, maintaining 100% ship readiness for the MK 160 system. As the CG Training PO, FC2 Lopez supervised the training of nine junior and senior personnel in 27 training topics, for a total of 135 man hours of training. Through his diligence as Training PO, CG has achieved 100% ESWS certification and 100% division level qualification. As part of MTT, FC2 Lopez supervised the training of 12 stretcher bearers during 4 drills, for a total of 8 hours of training.




HE LED 66 SAILORS IN THE DEMONSTRATION OF ALL DAMAGE CONTROL EQUIPMENT ONBOARD DURING BOTH TYCOM MATERIAL AND INSURV INSPECTIONS, RESULTING IN AN OVERALL SCORE OF "ABOVE AVERAGE" FOR CLASS OF SHIP. ADDITONALLY, CHIEF WILSON SUPERVISED 66 DCTT MEMBERS THROUGH TWO MOB-D CERTIFCATIONS, LEADING TO THE QUALIFICATION OF A CREW OF OVER 1,000 SAILORS IN A TOTAL OF 79 DRILL SETS ACROSS NINE REPAIR LOCKERS, THREE INPORT EMERGENCY TEAMS, AND THE AT-SEA FIRE PARTY WITH UNPRECEDENTED SCORES OF 92% AND 93%, RESPECTIVELY.




As Damage Control Petty Officer team leader for trouble call repairs, he supervised and assisted his team with 12 maintenance level repairs, sustaining and improving the Princeton's material condition.




-Led 24 DCTT members in training and developing damage control drill scenarios both underway and inport. Trained and qualified over 300 crew in Basic and Advanced damage control PQS to include Flight deck certification.




PETTY OFFICER CHASE EXPERTLY LED HIS TEAM OF 33 HULL MAINTENANCE, 5 MACHINERY REPAIRMAN, AND 22 DAMAGE CONTROL PERSONNEL TO ACCOMPLISH OVER 5,000 MAN HOURS OF MAINTENANCE TO INCLUDE MAIN STEAM LINE CONTROLLED WORK PACKAGES, FIRE MAIN BLANKING, AND LED OVER 35 DCTT DRILLS ENSURING THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF MISSION READINESS.




Tirelessly trained DCTT and Duty Sections on DC to qualify 80% at Basic DC and developed a ZUMWALT CLASS DC JQR.




HELPED TRAIN 123 PERSONNEL ACROSS 3 REPAIR LOCKERS AND WAS VITAL TO THE COMPLETION OF A VARIETY OF PREDEPLOYMENT DAMAGE CONTROL CERTIFICATIONS.




Tirelessly trained DCTT and Duty Sections on DC and installed DC system specific to DDG 1000 to qualify 80% at Basic DC and building a confident and enthusiastic 24 member Damage Control Training Team.
