AS THE EAWS COORDINATOR, HE QUALIFIED 32 SAILORS, EARNING ACCLOGWING ITS FIRST EAWS PENNANT IN ITS 53-YEAR HISTORY.




MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS ISA DETACHMENT SITE ENLISTED AVIATION WARFARE SPECIALIST COORDINATOR, PATROL SQUADRON FOUR ZERO FROM NOVEMBER 2017 TO AUGUST 2018. DEMONSTRATING SUPERIOR LEADERSHIP AND INITIATIVE, HE FLAWLESSLY DEVELOPED A TRAINING PROGRAM, ADMINISTERED WRITTEN EXAMINATIONS, AND PARTICIPATED IN PREBOARDS AND FINAL BOARDS, RESULTING IN 130 OUT OF THE 190 PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS COMPLETING THEIR QUALIFICATIONS. IN ADDITION, HE SERVED AS WORK CENTER 13B COLLATERAL DUTY QUALITY ASSURANCE REPRESENTATIVE DURING A DYNAMIC U.S. FIFTH, SIXTH, AND SEVENTH FLEETS DEPLOYMENT.




HER DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS LEADING PETTY OFFICER AND ENLISTED AVIATION WARFARE SPECIALIST COORDINATOR ON USS GERALD R. FORD (CVN 78) FROM OCTOBER 2019 TO SEPTEMBER 2020. PETTY OFFICER SOPERTON'S VAST EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE COMBINED WITH HER EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP ABILITY AIDED IN 737 SHIPBOARD QUALIFICATIONS AND PLAYED A PIVOTAL ROLE IN THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF 123 SAILORS. ADDITIONALLY, SHE ESTABLISHED AND UPDATED GERALD R. FORD'S ENLISTED AVIATION WARFARE SPECIALIST PROGRAM, RESULTING IN 1,345 DESIGNATIONS.




AME1 was instrumental in qualifying 23 people as Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialists by volunteering his personal time to teach 13 EAWS classes to 70 SELRES and FTS personnel. In addition, he attended two required schools for his QAR qualification and qualified as workcenter 13A Quality Assurance Representative in less than 1 year.




AS ENLISTED AVIATION WARFARE SPECIALIST SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT, HE CONDUCTED OVER 100 HOURS OF TRAINING RESULTING IN A 100% BOARD COMPLETION RATE AND 17 NEW AIRWARFARE QUALIFIED SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS.




AS A COMMAND ESWS AND EAWS COORDINATOR, HE CONDUCTED OVER 190 WALK THROUGHS AND CHAIRED 99 MURDER BOARDS THAT LED TO THE COMMAND RECEIVING BOTH WARFARE PENNANTS.




AS WORKCENTER ASSISTANT LEADING PETTY OFFICER, HE SINGLE-HANDEDLY ENSURED WORKCENTER 230 COMPLETED 100% OF ITS DAILY OBJECTIVES. HE FACILITATED ADVANCEMENTS FOR JUNIOR SAILORS AND PRODUCED THREE SECOND CLASS AND FIVE THIRD CLASS ADVANCEMENTS. AS EAWS COORDINATOR, HE SHOWED A 100% COMPLETION RATE.
