HER DILIGENT EFFORTS IMPROVED MAINTENANCE ACCURACY, RAISED CALIBRATION READINESS TO 96 PERCENT, AND EARNED AN OVERALL GRADE OF "ON TRACK" DURING THE 2018 COMMANDER, NAVAL AIR FORCES AVIATION MAINTENANCE INSPECTION. IN ADDITION, SHE WAS RECOGNIZED BY THE INSPECTION TEAM FOR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE DURING A SERIES OF CRITICAL MAINTENANCE PRACTICAL EVALUATIONS. BY HER PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER MICHIGAN REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.


PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HER DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS AVIONICS TECHNICIAN AND METCAL PROGRAM MANAGER IN STRIKE FIGHTER MAINTENANCE UNIT EL CENTRO FROM JUNE 2011 TO JULY 2013. AS THE RECOGNIZED SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT ON IMRL/METCAL, PETTY OFFICER BUXTON MAINTAINED AND TRACKED OVER 500 ITEMS VALUED AT MORE THAN 11 MILLION DOLLARS. SHE ORDERED, RECEIVED, SCHEDULED, DISTRIBUTED, AND TRACKED ALL MAINTENANCE WORK CENTER TOOLS AND NECESSARY EQUIPMENT ENSURING THE UNIT MET AND EXCEEDED ALL MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS. AS NIGHT CHECK SUPERVISOR, SHE TRAINED AND QUALIFIED 13 TEAM MEMBERS, THREE TEAM LEADERS, FOUR COLLATERAL DUTY INSPECTORS AND SIX FINAL CHECKERS WHICH ENSURED THE AVIONICS WORK CENTER WAS EQUIPPED AND TRAINED FOR ITS MISSION. BY HER PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER BUXTON REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.


PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS DIVISIONAL METCAL PROGRAM MANAGER AND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT SUPERVISOR FOR AIRCRAFT INTERMEDIATE MAINTENANCE DETACHMENT SIGONELLA, SICILY FROM AUGUST 2015 TO AUGUST 2018. AS DIVISIONAL METCAL PROGRAM MANAGER, PETTY OFFICER VAN DYKE TRACKED 215 CALIBRATION ITEMS AND GUARANTEED ACCURATE AND TIMELY TEST EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY AND MAINTENANCE CAPABILITY AROUND THE CLOCK. AS SUPPORT EQUIPMENT SUPERVISOR, HE COMPLETED 566 MAINTENANCE ACTIONS ON OVER 200 MAJOR END ITEMS OF SUPPORT EQUIPMENT, REDUCING THE MAINTENANCE BACKLOG TO ZERO FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FIVE YEARS. ADDITIONALLY, AS AUXILIARY SECURITY FORCE MEMBER HE STOOD OVER 400 HOURS OF WATCH, INSPECTED 2,025 VEHICLES, AND SAFEGARDED TWO NAVAL INSTALLATIONS AND A FAMILY HOUSING COMPLEX CONTAINING 3660 DOD PERSONNEL, DEPENDENTS, AND HOST NATION EMPLOYEES. PETTY OFFICER VAN DYKE'S PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
