DURING THIS PERIOD, LIEUTENANT JASON A. SULLIVAN RESEARCHED AND ORCHESTRATED THE PROCUREMENT, ORGANIZATION, AND TRAINING OF THE EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES, AND PERSONNEL REQUIRED FOR BOTH THE USS GREEN BAY AND THE USS BOXER'S SURGICAL SPACES. THESE ACTIONS WERE A KEY COMPONENT IN DELIVERING SPLIT AMPHIBIOUS READINESS GROUP OPERATIONS AND IMPROVED MEDICAL READINESS EXPONENTIALLY. ADDITIONALLY, SHE SELFLESSLY DEVOTED OVER FORTY HOURS OF PERSONAL TIME MENTORING AND EDUCATING STAFF AND CORPSMEN ABOARD THE USS BOXER AND GREEN BAY. LIEUTENANT SULLIVAN'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING SERVICE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS PERIOPERATIVE NURSE, NAVAL WAR COLLEGE, NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND, FROM 17 MARCH 2019 TO 21 SEPTEMBER 2022. DURING THIS PERIOD, LIEUTENANT JEAN B. HARRIS' LEADERSHIP SUPPORTED EVERY FACET OF DAILY CLINIC OPERATIONS, LEAVING A LASTING IMPACT UPON THE COMMAND AND ITS PATIENTS. AS LEADING PERIOPERATIVE NURSE, SHE SUPERVISED TWO SPECIALTY CLINICS, DELIVERING HIGH QUALITY HEALTHCARE IN SUPPORT OF SIX PROVIDERS, TO 2,500 PATIENTS WHILE LEADING A CREW OF SEVEN SPECIALISTS. A DECKPLATE LEADER, SHE EFFECTIVELY COORDINATED THE PERIOPERATIVE CARE OF 234 INTERVENTIONAL PAIN PROCEDURES, DECREASING THE COMMAND'S NETWORK COST BY OVER 200 THOUSAND DOLLARS. ADDITIONALLY, SHE CONSISTENTLY MAINTAINED 100 PERCENT ACCOUNTABILITY OF 300,000 DOLLARS WORTH OF EQUIPMENT AND MANAGED A NINETY THOUSAND DOLLAR OPERATIONAL TARGET FUNDS (OPTAR) BUDGET. MOREOVER, HER EFFORTS RESULTED IN A PROCESS IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVE WHICH RAISED THE AVERAGE PROCEDURE COST TO 2,700 DOLLARS AND INCREASED THE DEPARTMENT'S REVENUE BY 40 PERCENT. FINALLY, SHE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE RAISING OF 75,000 DOLLARS FOR THE COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN AND NAVY AND MARINE CORPS RELIEF SOCIETY. BY HER NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PERSEVERANCE, AND DEVOTION TO DUTY, LIEUTENANT HARRIS REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
