HIS EFFORTS AS CA02 WORK CENTER SUPERVISOR AND SONAR SUPERVISOR RESULTED IN FIRST TIME ASW CERTIFICATION DURING ASW 2.4, WITH AN OUTSTANDING SCORE OF 97 PERCENT FOR THE ANTISUBMARINE FUNCTIONAL AREA DURING INSURV, AND THE SUCCESSFUL PARTICIPATION IN JOINT WARRIOR ASW EVENTS AND NUWTAC ADVANCED ASW PHASE ONE AND TWO. DURING A MAJOR CASUALTY, PETTY OFFICER XXXXXXX'S PROACTIVE APPROACH AND SOUND JUDGEMENT WERE VITAL TO KEEPING USS VICKSBURG BATTLE READY, PREVENTING DAMAGES OVER 5 MILLION DOLLARS, AND ENSURING THE SAFETY OF HIS SHIP AND HIS SAILORS. AS LEAD SONAR SUPERVISOR, HE EXPERTLY TRAINED FOUR WATCHTEAMS, LEADING THEM THROUGH SIX REAL-WORLD OPERATIONS AND BI-LATERAL EXERCISES AS WELL AS TWO MAJOR ASSESSMENTS, EARNING OUTSTANDING RESULTS THROUGHOUT. AS COMMAND DAPA, HE TRAINED AND COUNSELLED OVER 200 SAILORS, HANDLING SENSITIVE PERSONAL ISSUES THAT MAINTAINED THE HEALTH AND EFFECTIVENESS OF STANDISH'S CREW. PETTY OFFICER SAILOR PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HIS LEADERSHIP AND VAST EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND FORTITUDE WERE VITAL TO TAKING STERETT FROM PRE-COMMISIONING UNIT TO IN-DEMAND MULTI-FLEET ASSET. HIS RELENTLESS DEDICATION WAS AN INTEGRAL PART OF COMMISSIONING, SAIL AROUND, CSSQT, PRO-2 LIVE ASW EVENT, USW CERTIFICATION, INSURV, SMC, AND CHANGE OF COMMAND. AS A SONARMAN, HE REPRESENTED ENLISTED MATTERS IN HIS DIVISION TO THE COMMAND AND CREATED AND FACILITATED 250 TRAINING TOPICS, GUIDED SUBORDINATES TO ACCOMPLISH OVER 500 PERSONNEL QUALIFICATION STANDARDS, AND MAINTAINED OVER 90% CONTINUOUS CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT COMPLETION. HIS EXPERT LEADERSHIP ENSURED 180 PERSONNEL FOR 17 MILCREWS WERE ADEQUATELY TRAINED AND ASSESSED IN THEIR ABILITY TO MEET MISSION OBJECTIVES. ADDITIONALLY, HE SUPERVISED THE ACCURATE COMPLETION AND POSTING OF 760 DAILY OPERATIONAL BRIEFS AND SITREPS, 30 TYPE COMMANDER-LEVEL SURTASS MILCREW PRE-DEPLOYMENT CERTIFICATIONS AND ASSOCIATED PRE-CERTIFICATION REPORTS, SCENARIOS AND FINAL REPORTS AND CERTIFICATION MESSAGES, SIX TACTICAL READINESS TRAINING ASSESSMENTS (TRTA) AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR TWO NAVAL OCEAN PROCESSING FACILITIES (NOPF). CHIEF PETTY OFFICER BEALS CONSISTENTLY PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. AS THE UNDERSEA WARFARE (USW) TAB LEAD, HE WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAINING, ASSESSING AND CERTIFYING NINE WARSHIPS BASED IN JAPAN, HAWAII, AND WASHINGTON IN ALL FACETS OF ANTI-SUBMARINE WARFARE FOR MORE THAN 255 FORWARD DEPLOYED NAVAL FORCES (FDNF) WATCHSTANDERS WHICH RESULTED IN 17 FDNF SHIP CERTIFICATIONS AND RECERTIFICATIONS OF THE USW WARFARE AREA. IN ADDITION, HE LED THREE ATGWP TEAM MEMBERS UNDER THE SFTM AND THE INSTALLATION OF THE SFRM, SFEM AND ASWQ AND TRAINED OVER 800 SHIPBOARD PERSONNEL IN CONDUCTING AND EVALUATING ANTI-SUBMARINE WARFARE, CONDUCTING 128 DAYS UNDERWAY AND EXECUTING 52 MISSIONS. FINALLY, AS THE USW MAFL, HE REVISED AND IMPROVED THE GOVERNING INSTRUCTIONS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW ASA CHECKSHEETS, RESTORING ACCURACY AND ENHANCING OPERATIONS. CHIEF PETTY OFFICER BEALS' DISTINCTIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PERSERVERANCE, AND DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
