13B Aviation Maintenance Work Center Evals


-OUTSTANDING TEHNICIAN. Responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of 634 scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions, the completion of nine 180-day inspections, 14 90-day inspections, and three 360-inspections. Removed and installed 13 Optical Fire Detectors, eight Fire Protection Control Units, four Galley Chillers, 28 Various Seat Cables, 17 Crew and Passenger oxygen bottles, nine OBIGGS turbo motor compressors, 25 portable walk around bottles. Completed 2 Technical Directive Maintenance Actions. Hand selected to serve as primary 13B technician on six detachments and received a deployment NAM for acting 13B CDI.
-TEAM PLAYER. Provides daily assistance to W/C 310, which led to the completion of 62 daily and turnaround inspections, 48 fuel samples, 68 launches/recoveries, 56 refueling evolutions and 12 aircraft washes as a plane captain and 310 CDI. Assisted Mechs with fuel transfers six times restoring fuel imbalance on detatchment. Assisted in 28 POD inspections as an AAS Team Member. Assisted in the qualification of nine new Plane Captains.
-FLIGHT LINE AUTHORITY. As a 13B CDI and Plane Captain, the maintenance department frequently requested him by name due to his reputation for identifying and rectifying system anomalies before they could impact a mission. His deep systems knowledge provides a level of confidence and safety assurance that is unmatched for all. Always assisting other shops ensuring mission capability and saftey of his peers and fellow sailors.







An Egress/Environmental Technician onboard VFA-94, he assisted in the completion of 245 maintenance actions totaling 735 man hours, including two 728-day Ejection Seat inspections. His efforts directly contributed to 650 sorties totaling 1044.7 mishap free flight hours.




As the work center 13B Night Shift supervisor, he successfully led a shift of six maintainers in the completion of 630 maintenance actions encompassing 1132 man hours. His vast technical knowledge assisted in the diagnosis of over 87 complex environmental control system discrepancies, assisting the command in achieving a 98% sortie completion. AME2's professional attitude and commitment to the Navy's mission earned him plane captain of the year for 2016.




AME3 led 13B in the timely completion of 2 Isochronical inspections. He was also solely responsible for the removal and installation of 998's cargo compartment air pack which resulted in the timely completion of a mission supporting Seal Teams. He has contributed over 500 working hours and 50 CDI hours in the last three months.




A QAR Representative, AME1 volunteered her personal time to teach 11 EAWS classes to 80 SELRES and FTS personnel resulting in the qualification of 20 members as Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialists. Completed over 40 days of Annual Training and 16 Additional Drills to attend two required schools for her QAR qualification and deployed on short notice in support of the CENTCOM Bahrain detachment. As a result, she qualified as workcenters 13A and 13B Quality Assurance Representative in less than 1 year.
