Motor Transport Maintenance Chief

- Sgt Cerda's key billets are Maintenance Shop Chief, Quality Control Chief, Environmental Compliance Coordinator, Layettes NCO and Dispatch Chief for 2D ANGLCIO.

- Performed his key billet and the Motor Transport Operations Chief from January through April 2024, in which resulted in (72) accident-free missions while maintaining an overall D TAMCN readiness of 97.4 percent during that time frame.

- Supervised the inventory control for tool room and On-vehicle equipment (OVE) inventories, to include all Unit Using Responsibility Items and Additional Authorized list, valued over 314,530 dollars and ensured 100 percent accuracy for the commander's wall-to-wall inspection in 2024.

- Inspected a total of (198) service requests to ensure proper closure, labor hours, and parts debriefed per FSMAO references.

- Passed the Environmental Compliance Evaluation with only (3) discrepancies that were immediately actioned in January 2024

- Performed his key billet and the Motor Transport Operations Chief billet for 2 months in 2023.

- Assisted 2D Intel Motor Transport section by conducting a courtesy internal FSMAO inspection in preparation for their FSMAO in March 2024 in which he inspected (36) maintenance production, PMCS, Parts requirement, modification control, and inventory control checklists, resulting in a low-risk overall readiness.

- Maintained the unit's overall preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) of 90 percent for 6 straight months in 2023.

- Performed duties as the Unit's Dispatch Chief since April 2023-current, safely dispatching over (278) missions, totaling 6,876 accident-free miles, 224,414 pounds of gear and equipment, and 998 passengers with (0) casualties or mishaps.

- Took point on the Unit's Motor Transport Operations Program for the Commanding General's Readiness Inspection, resulting in a mission capable grade and only one discrepancy.

- Trained (10) Radio Battalion Marines and over (70) 2D ANGLCIO Marines in the Dry Rollover Egress training.

- Performed duties as the Motor Transport Maintenance Chief from December 2022 through March 2023, and improved the overall unit's material readiness from (89) percent to (100) percent by completing a total of over (33) corrective maintenance service requests during that time frame.

- Cut unit costs by implementing the use of the oil analyzer thus saving the unit 6,684 dollars on PM kits in 2023.

- Supervised, prepared, and delivered a total of (6) operational tactical vehicles in effort to support the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe.

- Successfully inducted a total of (37) calibration items to the calibration facility and supervised the verification of (44) modification kits for all rolling stock.

- Prepared (16) vehicles for BURMESE CHASE 23 which enabled a successful transportation of over 60 Marines and NATO allies to and from various training areas inside Camp Lejeune.

- Prepared 9 tactical vehicles to support (2) warfighting week field exercises in 2023 for Support brigade.

- Expertly prioritized work flow, supervised and managed (12) Marines in the conduct of maintenance and ensuring over (280) parts, valuing more than 28,150 dollars, were properly installed.




MOTOR TRANSPORT CHIEF, HEADQUARTERS COMPANY, COMBAT LOGISTICS REGIMENT-17, 1ST MARINE LOGISTICS GROUP, 1 MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE FROM APRIL 2010 TO MARCH 2012. DURING THIS TIME, STAFF SERGEANT EATON OVERSAW 389 TRANSPORTATION MOVEMENT REQUESTS AND 3040 HOURS OF CORRECTIVE AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE WHILE MAINTAINING AN IMPRESSIVE 94 PERCENT TRAINING READINESS RECORD. HE WAS THE RESPONSIBLE OFFICER FOR SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS OF MARINE CORPS ASSETS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE READINESS AND ACCOUNTABILITY INCLUDING OVER 250 DELTA TABLE OF AUTHORIZED MATERIAL CONTROL NUMBERS. BEYOND HIS NORMAL DUTIES, STAFF SERGEANT EATON SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS ASSISTING WITH COMMAND FUNCTIONS TO INCLUDE THE JOG-A-THONS LOCATED AT VARIOUS ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND THE 2010 AND 2011 MARINE CORPS BIRTHDAY BALLS. STAFF SERGEANT EATON'S RELENTLESS EFFORTS, DEVOTION TO DUTY, AND SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS.
