MOS 57 CBRN Defense Examples
For superior performance of duties while serving as team leader, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Element, Marine Rotational Force-Europe 26.1 (MRF-E 26.1) from 15 October 2025 to 12 December 2025, Corporal Dickie is enthusiastically recommended for the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. During this period, he consistently performed his duties in a highly professional manner.
During the Combat Enhancement Training/Force Integration Training (CET/FIT) phase of MRF-E 26.1, Corporal Dickie trained and led his Marines. Upon arrival in Finland, he immediately developed a comprehensive training plan and fitness schedule to prepare his Marines for the upcoming requirements. Corporal Dickie then directed and facilitated teach-backs to reinforce retention and proficiency related to 2000 and 3000-level training and readiness task that directly preparing his team for more complex requirements.
Corporal Dickie was one of the instructors for the decontamination team course delivered to companies from Combat Logistics Battalion 6 (CLB-6) aboard Dragsvik, Finland. This course prepared 29 Marines spread across the battalion to sustain operations during a CBRN incident. This course required swift thinking in order to facilitate personnel decontamination practical applications in the Dragsvik area. The delivered period of instruction effect on the students were clear during the execution of the Combat Logistic Company A (CLC-A) field event. During this event, Corporal Dickie mentored the newly trained team members through a successful exercise in which CLC-A displayed their capability to perform convoy operations in a simulated contaminated environment. This field exercise assessment directly affected CLB-6 overall CBRN readiness. This technical expertise allowed him to accurately evaluate the students' performance prior to their field exercise. Corporal Dickie's assessment directly contributed to CLB-6's overall CBRN readiness.
During the Freezing Winds 25 execution phase, Corporal Dickie led his team though a mirage of task. He conducted liaison with the Finnish Defense Force to gain information on the incident, created a terrain model, and briefed their missions. Once their teams were informed, they perform CBRN reconnaissance of the incident site and employed Finnish chemical detectors to locate the hazards. Once the hazard was located, the teams mitigated the hazard to limit the spread of contamination at the incident site. This event concluded with the team successfully processing six casualties, eight responders, and an overpack drum containing a chemical munition.
Corporal Dickie's dedication, tactical proficiency, and strong work ethic strengthened partnerships and interoperability between the Nyland's Brigade, the CBRN Response Element, and CLB-6. These efforts created lasting improvements across 2d Marine Logistics Group through the Marines he trained and developed. Articulate, technically proficient, and performing well above their grade, Corporal Dickie fully merits recognition with the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
