6019 Quality Assurance Chief
Professional achievement in the superior performance of his duties as Quality Assurance Chief, Marine All Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 242, Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing from 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2013. During this period, Gunnery Sergeant Miller distinguished himself as the most valuable maintainer in Marine Aviation. As the Quality Assurance Chief, Gunnery Sergeant Miller led the maintenance department through two deployments in austere locations and three record setting maintenance inspections. As the Quality Assurance Chief, his leadership and flexibility far exceeded that of his peers and ensured maintainers were prepared and capable of handling any changes to scheduled flight operations. Gunnery Sergeant Miller's guidance and perseverance helped propel VMFA(AW)-242 to unparalleled levels of performance. His ability to rapidly troubleshoot and fix aircraft problems enabled the squadron to fly 3,851 hours in FY-13. Gunnery Sergeant Miller signed off 229 Maintenance Action Forms which equated to 1014.7 man hours for the year. For outstanding meritorious service as Assistant Officer in Charge and Avionics Subject Matter Expert, Joint Strike Fighter Site Activation Task Force, at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina from August 2020 to October 2021. Chief Warrant Officer Three Love's outstanding leadership set a true standard of excellence in technical expertise, foresight, and cross-functional coordination. 6048 ALSS Technician
Sergeant Hernandez played a key role in the successful management and preservation of the ALSS 5200 program, ensuring the flight equipment work center provided HMLA-367 with mission-capable and safe equipment. His leadership in overseeing 5,546 maintenance action forms and 8,400 maintenance man-hours, combined with his expertise as the sole CDQAR, was instrumental in maintaining the squadron's readiness for over 3,300 sorties and 4,900 flight hours. Sergeant Hernandez's dedication to safety, technical excellence, and mentorship significantly contributed to the success of critical detachments and the overall operational readiness of the unit.
6048 Flight Equipment NCO
For the superior performance of his duties while serving as a squad leader and Flight Equipment NCO for Combat Cargo aboard USS America from 28 DEC 20 to 17 FEB 21.
While serving as the Flight Equipment NCO on the USS America, he created an Excel spreadsheet to accurately track $115,000 worth of flight deck equipment. He conducted 12 weekly serviceability checks for all gear issued to his platoon - 28 Marines and one Sailor. His checks included cranials, firefly lights, CO2 cannister pills and auto-inflator devices, dye markers, whistles, personnel inflator bladders, chemical dissolvable pills, and MOBI GPS units for each individual Marine and Sailor.
During the replenishement-at-sea (RAS) he worked tirelessly as the Elevator NCO, organizing 300 pallets of food and supplies and coordinated their movement to the hanger bay for storage. During this event, he gathered weights for each pallet, ensuring the elevator was not overloaded to ensure each pallet safely made its way to the hanger bay.
Sought out for his leadership abilities, he was selected to become a squad leader, and led a team of six Marines in day-to-day functions including accountability formations and flight operations on the flight deck. Using the day's air plan, he properly delegated assignments each day to his squad, ensuring proper manning for all required billets.
Under his mentorship, one Marine completed the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, achieving two belts, progressing him through the program from tan belt to green belt. His dedication to the 31st MEU's mission led to him being selected over his peers and being recognized as the "Warrior of the Patrol" for 21.1.
Sought out for his expertise, he assisted 28 Marines and one Sailor with the proper set up and break down of their float coats and cranials. He led a hip pocket class for the platoon, assisting them with self checks of their gear to ensure their serviceability. Also using his expertise, he assisted his Platoon Sergeant and fellow Squad Leaders with interpreting the daily air plan, ensuring his platoon had the accurate knowledge it needed to perform their daily Combat Cargo duties.

6073 GSE Representative
Lance Corporal Ebinger is enthusiastically recommended for the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for professional achievement in the superior performance of his duties while serving as the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) representative and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Training Non-Commissioned Officer for Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 312 (VMFA-312) from May 15, 2021 to July 13, 2024. His noteworthy accomplishments are as follows:
Lance Corporal Ebinger embodies the true definition of a Marine, specifically through his noteworthy actions in which he executed maintenance and administrative duties of greater rank and responsibilities. Lance Corporal Ebinger enabled the accomplishment of the squadron's mission directly through his actions, such as pursuing program readiness within the marine aviation maintenance training and readiness program, as well as enforcing proper maintenance and documentation of the Support Equipment Planned Maintenance System program.
While serving at VMFA-312, Lance Corporal Ebinger ensured all necessary Ground Support Equipment (GSE) remained in a Ready For Issue status (RFI). He skillfully maintained and procured all GSE needed for aircraft and Support Equipment maintenance, which supported over 2,000 sorties totaling over 8100 flight hours. To meet squadron requirements, he received training to procure a bus driver's license. This allowed for the advantage of transporting Marines during both deployments and detachments to Japan, and Norway, also transporting marines in Beaufort. He received his transportation safety institution certificate which trained him in the Department of Defense's preparation of hazardous material. These transportation courses allows him to assist in transporting hazardous material when deployed overseas (used when going to Arizona and Norway). Throughout his time at VMFA-312, Lance Corporal Ebinger personally provided mentorship to 2 GSE Marines as well as 12 Tool Room Marines to ensure future success in the handling and maintenance of GSE.
Lance Corporal Ebinger contributed outside of his duties by assisting in the tool control program with tracking and ensuring proper documentation was done for broken tools. Under this role, he created over 300 electronic turn-in documents and inspecting tools to ensure they are ready for issue (RFI). IN addition, Lance Corporal Ebinger assisted the program by screening and transferring over 30 support equipment assets to and from MALS 31 (as needed).
Lance Corporal Ebinger personally maintained over 35 ground support assets and ensured they remained RFI during VMFA-312's detachment to Nordic Response, El Centro, and Weapons Training Instruction, resulting in over 410 maintenance man hours for each detachment. While serving in the Unit Deployment Program (UDP), he worked to guarantee that VMFA-312 had RFI Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for detachments to Okinawa and Guam. This required him to work 300-man hours of maintenance on each detachment. For the detachment to Guam, Lance Corporal Ebinger aided in conducting a pre-deployment site survey to ensure Anderson Air Force Base had the proper ability to support VMFA-312's mission requirements. During deployments to Europe and Japan, Lance Corporal Ebinger ensured over 40 ground support assets remained RFI with over 750-man hours of maintenance for each deployment. In preparation for each deployment and detachment, he ensured that the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) needed during deployments and detachments were procured by creating off station requests and local station requests to both Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12 and Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12.
Lance Corporal Ebinger's devotion to duty, effective maintenance, and coordination of unit support, has deeply impacted VMFA-312 and his work will continue to benefit the future generation of Checkerboards long after his departure. His intuition, operational efficiency, and genuine enthusiasm will truly be missed by all the Marines at VMFA-312. LANCE CORPORAL SZYPLINSKI EXECUTED HIS DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY SKILLED MANNER, GREATLY IMPACTING THE SQUADRON'S SUCCESS. LANCE CORPORAL SZYPLINSKI'S LEADERSHIP WAS CRUCIAL DURING PRE-DEPLOYMENT EXERCISES, PERFORMING EXCEPTIONALLY DURING THE COMPOSITE TRAINING UNIT EXERCISE. HIS SUPERIOR EFFORTS AND DEVOTION TO HIS UNIT WERE UNRIVALED THROUGHOUT COMPTUEX. SERGEANT LITTON DISTINGUISHED HERSELF THROUGH EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP AND UNWAVERING DEDICATION, WHICH HAD A PROFOUND IMPACT ON THE DETACHMENT'S SUCCESS. HER INNOVATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING AND PROACTIVE APPROACH TO EXTERNAL CHALLENGES SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED OPERATIONAL READINESS AND ENHANCED THE UNIT'S OVERALL EFFECTIVENESS. Corporal Maxwell R Valdez Cortez, United States Marine Corps, distinguished himself by meritorious service while assigned as an UH-1Y Crew Chief supporting operations at an undisclosed location from March 2026 to May 2026. Demonstrating exceptional professionalism and operational readiness, he provided critical fire and emergency evacuation protection for two fully crewed civilian firefighter aircraft valued at over 840 million dollars. His expert execution of airfield emergency procedures, launch and recovery, ensured uninterrupted mission capability and safeguarded surveillance and reconnaissance assets. During a critical in-flight emergency involving engine failure accompanied by a significant hydraulic leak, Corporal Valdez-Cortez responded swiftly and decisively, directing emergency apparatus and coordinating response actions that ensured the safe recovery of the aircraft and protection of personnel and resources. His vigilance, technical expertise, and unwavering dedication significantly enhanced flightline safety and operational effectiveness. By his distinctive accomplishments, Corporal Valdez-Cortez reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AS A FLIGHTLINE CREW CHIEF, MARINE HEAVY HELICOPTER SQUADRON 465, MARINE AIRCRAFT GROUP 16, 3D MARINE AIRCRAFT WING, FROM JANUARY 2013 TO JANUARY 2014. DURING THIS PERIOD, LANCE CORPORAL REEVES WAS A BAD ASS FLYER OF THE CH-53 SUPER STALLION WHICH LED TO ALMOST A MILLION SUCCESSFUL MISSIONS FOR THE WARHORSE. FLYING ALMOST EVERY DAY AND OR NIGHT FOR NON-STOP HOURS, LANCE CORPORAL REEVES MADE EVERY ONE WITHOUT GETTING STUCK IN EL CENTRO LIKE HIS PEERS DID ALL THE TIME. WHILE HIS PEERS WERE OUT PARTYING AT THE BARRACKS, HE WAS BUSY WORKING ON THE AIRCRAFT SO THEY WERE ALWAYS SAFE FOR FLIGHT. HIS EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP, UNRELENTING DRIVE, AND ENERGY CREATED A GENUINE ENTHUSIASM TOWARDS THE MARINE HEAVY HELICOPTER SQUADRON 465 MAINTANCE DEPARTMENTS. HIS DIRECT EFFORTS AND OVERSIGHT RESULTED IN ACHIEVING THE HIGHEST MISHAP FREE FLIGHT HOURS IN THE ENTIRE MARINE AIRCRAFT WING. HIS KNOWLEDGE OF THE FLYING PROCEDURES WAS PIVOTAL IN BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN NUGGETS AND EXPERIENCED FLYERS, ENABLING AN ALL AROUND SUCCESSFUL FLIGHTLINE SHOP.
