Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist (SCWS) Coordinator


Served as assistant SCWS coordinator at Desert Bee for two weeks and was instrumental in qualifying seven (7) seabees as Seabee Combat Warfare Specialists.




Assistant Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist (SCWS) program coordinator for PHIBCB2 Det 516. Set up and taught SCWS classes at the Battalion during several IDTTs for both Reserve and Active Duty Sailors. Oversaw a series of training classes that were set up to improve the unit's numbers and ultimately increased percentage from 50% to 75%, a 25% increase. Mentored shipmates in a one on one setting to ensure they understood key topics and learning areas.




As the SCWS program assistant coordinator, during the six-day March IDTT, EO1 requalified for ACB2 Seabee Combat Warfare, completing all written tests and oral boards while still teaching and administering SCWS classes for fellow sailors, increasing the battalion SCWS percentage. He also tutored six individuals in preparation for their final oral board. This type of Deckplate leadership will be a driving force in more unit members earning their warfare qualifications.




Sat on seven boards and conducted 15 training sessions for Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist (SCWS) boards resulting in ten sailors being SCWS qualified.




As SCWS coordinator for Delta Company, produced a fast-paced and inclusive PT program that resulted in zero PRT failures.




BU1 served as the Company SCWS coordinator and conducted over 80 hours of critical SCW training for 86 personnel which produced one qualified Seabee.


PETTY OFFICER HARRIS DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL MANAGERIAL ABILITY AND COMMITMENT TO THE COMMAND'S MISSION BY LEADING 18 COMPANY SCWS COORDINATORS AND FOUR RESERVE COUNTERPARTS IN THE FACILITATION OF 119 CLASSES FOR 630 PERSONNEL, ADMINISTERING 178 FINAL TESTS, 94 PRE-BOARDS, AND 72 FINAL BOARDS, QUALIFYING 56 ACTIVE PERSONNEL AND 11 RESERVE PERSONNEL. HIS EFFORTS INCREASED OVERALL COMMAND ATTAINMENT BY 20 PERCENT OVER THE PREVIOUS THREE YEARS. AS CHARLIE COMPANY TRAINING PETTY OFFICER, SW1 EFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED 87 PERSONNEL BY IDENTIFYING CRITICAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS AND ESTABLISHED AN AGGRESSIVE TRAINING PLAN THAT MET OR EXCEEDED REQUIREMENTS. HIS EFFORTS LED TO 943 QUALIFICATIONS AND 12 AMERICAN WELDING SCHOOL CERTIFICATIONS. BY HIS EXCEPTIONAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER HARRIS REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
