PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS A DRILL INSTRUCTOR FOR COMPANY L, 3RD RECRUIT TRAINING BATTALION, RECRUIT TRAINING REGIMENT, MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT, PARRIS ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA FROM 20 AUGUST 2007 TO 16 JULY 2010. DURING THIS PERIOD, SERGEANT ATKINS' SUCCESS AND EFFECTIVENESS WERE CLEARLY DISPLAYED THROUGH THE 350 CIVILIANS HE DEVELOPED AND TRANSFORMED INTO MARINES AND THE 17,000 RECRUITS HE PROCESSED AND PREPARED IN THE RECEIVING PROCESS OF RECRUIT TRAINING. IN ADDITION, SERGEANT ATKINS' DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL PROFICIENCY, OBTAINING WELL ABOVE AVERAGE SCORES FOR THE TRAINING EFFECTIVENESS OVERALL FOR THE BATTALION. SERGEANT ATKINS' RECEIVED DRILL INSTRUCTOR OF THE QUARTER FOR 3RD RECRUIT TRAINING BATTALION AND ASCENDED TO SENIOR DRILL INSTRUCTOR. SERGEANT ATKINS' INITIATIVE, PERSEVERANCE, AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE MARINE CORPS AND THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS RECRUIT DIVISION COMMANDER AND FLEET QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR AT RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND FROM MAY XXXX TO MAY XXXX. AS RECRUIT DIVISION COMMANDER, HE EXPERTLY TRAINED EIGHT DIVISIONS, TRANSFORMING 755 CIVILIANS INTO BASICALLY TRAINED AND HIGHLY MOTIVATED SAILORS READY FOR DUTY IN THE FLEET. HAND SELECTED AS FLEET QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR, HE CONDUCTED OVER 200 INSPECTIONS OF OVER 22,000 RECRUITS IN ALL PHASES OF BASIC TRAINING AND MAINTAINED RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND'S SHIP'S TRAINING TEAM PROGRAM, RESULTING IN A HIGHER QUALITY OF SAILOR ENTERING THE FLEET AND A BETTER EQUIPPED AND PREPARED DIVISION COMMANDER.
