-STELLAR PERFORMER. As Bulk Storeroom Custodian, CS2 Big Boi managed 891 line items valued at $302,381.60 resulting in 100% accountablity. He maintained an immaculate 96.81% validity on all spot inventories and 97.06% on full inventories. As Bulk Storeroom Supervisor, he led and mentored the Bulk Storeroom Custodian to close the galley with zero items remaining in all storerooms.
-CULINARY MAESTRO. As Galley Watch Captain, he led 2 CSs and 2 FSAs in daily food preparation. He ensured the proper production, handling, and cleaniness of food products. As Work Center Supervisor, he led his division in completing 948 checks of preventative and corrective maintenance totaling 1713.4 man hours and raised the average spot check score to an unprecedented 94.1%.
-COMMAND AND COMMUNITY ENGAGED. He was responsible for both of his FSAs and one of his CSs being awarded FSA of the Month and CS of the Quarter. He volunteered 20 hours of his time at PAWS Companion Animal Shelter which resulted in over 200 pet adoptions.

CSSN Fernandez is a dedicated. tireless, and hardworking individual whose performance continues to excel in all areas. He is performing at the level of a stellar, seasoned Third Class Petty officer, which makes him an indispensable asset to the command.
-CREATIVE CULINARY SKILLS. CSSN Fernandez applied acquired culinary skills and consistently earned praise from the crew for providing quality food service. As Galley Watch Captain he led 2 Food Service Attendants and 1 Culinary Specialists in daily operations in food preparation, and records keeping. He is responsible for training his subordinates and peers in proper food handling, sanitation, and galley equipment safety. His efforts provided more than 50 individual nutritious meals for 85 ships crew members during numerous mine-counter measure exercises in the Arabian Gulf.
-COMMAND IMPACT. As 3M Maintenance Man, he conducted daily preventive maintenance on galley equipment, and 28 spaces in the Supply Department. He continues to contribute to the safety of GLADIATOR by standing a vigilant Low Visibility Lookout watch.

For superior performance as Galley Watch Captain while serving on USS FORREST SHERMAN (DDG 98) from August 2017 to November 2017. Culinary Specialist Second Class is a dedicated and hard working individual who performs all duties in an enthusiastic manner. PO2's performance has been exceptional. His culinary knowledge, skills, and positive attitude have been key factors in the food service division meeting everyday operational challenges and boosting morale among the crew. Culinary Specialist Second Class is a very independent working sailor who needs little supervision to perform his job. His initiative and effort contributed to the preparation, sanitation, and cleanliness of the galley.
As the Galley Watch Captain, oversaw the execution of 4 special meals, including the Navy Birthday, with five hundred attendees, including dignitaries from two countries, in support of USS Skillet's efforts to expand US Navy's foreign relations.
Completed deployment onboard USNS Mercy ISO Pacific Partnership 2016. As the Dietary Technician, she led four Culinary Specialists and four food service attendants in the coordination of complex schedules, which provided over 50,000 meals to over 600 patients. She assisted in the daily maintenance of food service equipment valued at over $1 million, which resulted in a 100% equipment operational status. As Galley Watch Captain, she supervised five Culinary Specialists and six food service attendants in daily operations, producing over 518,000 meals for 900 crew members and patients. Maintained high sanitation standards, resulting in passing all sanitation inspections.
As a lower base galley watch captain, he provided 14,400 quality meals and sanitation to the Marines stationed there. As a Cook on Watch at the main galley, he continued to provide the same, another 72,000 quality meals. As a member of the ASF for the base, he stood over 250 hours of sentry watch, providing support to NSF during Citadel Shield Solid Curtain.
While supporting USS NEVADA BLUE Culinary Specialist division as Galley Watch Captain, Petty Officer Feyerabend noticed a major departure from specification with the topside freezer unit's temperature. His in-depth knowledge of food service spaces requirements triggered an immediate action and response ultimately saving the NEVADA over $50K in frozen food stores and a potential delay in underway time due to sustainment requirements. Due to Petty Officer Feyerabend's immediate action and attentive watchstanding the USS NEVADA Supply Department avoided a costly and highly visible incident.
