Magazine Sprinkler LPO Evals



As the Assistant LPO, qualified over 1,200 shipboard sailors in small arms and scheduled and conducted 12 magazine sprinkler tests and certifications on 76 magazines with zero discrepancies. He conducted 100 hours of in-rate training leading to the advancement of seven Sailors. His expertise and foresight proved to be valuable in the record setting ammunition offload of over 700 net lbs of explosives. As a Trusted Weapons Expert, he serviced and maintained over $1 million in weapon systems, NVD, and mounts in a continuous state of readiness enhancing operational capability for the USS Hornet.




Assistant leading petty officer for weapons division, OW01 workcenter. As workcenter supervisor, GM2 oversaw the completion of 6,131 maintenance actions resulting in a 99.9% recorded accomplishment rate. Also, took it upon himself to take 12 magazine sprinkler gauges to Sicily to be calibrated, saving the command from an instantaneous failure on the 2014 SESSI inspection.




As Combat Gunnery LPO, led 10 Sailors in the coordination of maintenance, operation, and repair of 96 Crew Served and Small Arms weapons, two 25mm MK38 Mod 2 Machine Guns, one 20mm Close In Weapons System, one MK45 5" Lightweight Gun, 14 Ready Service Lockers, and seven magazines and sprinkler systems.

Fleet Sentencer- Tracked and maintained over 1.5 million pounds of ordnance during 12 Ammo Onloads and multiple weapon firing exercises.

Crew Served Weapons Instructor- Instructed 27 Sailors in the completion of 4 Crew Served Weapon qualifications, leading to the qualification of 26 Sailors.

Mentor- Trained 10 Sailors in in-rate qualifications, military heritage, and technical knowledge. His efforts were rewarded by two Sailors promoting to Second Class Petty Officers, one Sailor promoting Third Class Petty Officer, one Sailor being nominated for SOQ, and two Sailors being highlighted as Sailor of the Week.

Mount Captain- Ensured the safe expenditure of 458 5" projectiles and powders during 18 Live Fire Evolutions such as NSFS recertification, CSQQT, and COMPTUEX.
