Repair Division Evals

The Repair division is one of the Engineering department's three divisions and is split into four work centers: ER01 and ER03 (Hull Maintenance Technicians), ER04 (Damage Controlmen) and ER09 (Damage Control Petty Officers).

-DECKPLATE LEADER. Point man for the planning & execution of emergent repairs on leaking freon piping for NR3 and NR5 A/C. Additionally, he managed his team in the fabrication and installation of vent lines for all 16 fire pumps as well as braze jobs for NR1 and NR3 ROs. He led 7 Sailors in the completion of 212 trouble tickets that improved quality of life.
-COMMAND IMPACT. As part of the oil lab team, he helped manage the Lube Oil and Fuel Oil Quality Management Program resulting in the safe and flawless transfer of more than 3 million gallons of F-76. As duty section Fire Marshall, he conducted damage control training and drills for his IET which resulted in a more effective fire response party.
-DEDICATED MENTOR. As Repair Division's Training Petty Officer, he developed a robust training plan consisting of 86 different training topics to include in-rate and general military topics of instruction. He oversaw daily divisional PQS study that led to the completion of 56 PQS to include 5 sailors achieving ESWS & EAWS in the 20.1 and 20.2 patrols.

DLPO for Repair Division on USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER. Successfully managed 40 sailors in the maintenance and repair of $56 million worth of equipment vital to the continued operation of a key strategic asset. His managerial skill ensured 100% completion of 3M maintenance despite a manpower shortage and no divisional HT1 or HTC on board.




Led the Repair division in planning and training the ship's crew in support of ship's mission to include DCMA, LOA, and Flight Deck certification. Led 24 DCTT members in training and developing damage control drill scenarios, both underway and inport. Trained and qualified over 360 crew in Basic and Advanced damage control PQS to include Flight deck certification. He was overall in charge of FART team to ensure all engineering discrepancies were fixed in a timely manner. Responsible for and supervised the maintenance and operation of all Repair and Damage control equipment to include: CHT, HALON/CO2 Fixed system, Repair Locker equipment, CBRD, Machinery Repair equipment, and Portable Firefighting equipment.




As Repair Division Leading Chief Petty Officer, ensured proper load out and inventory of over 45,000 line items totaling 2.5 Million dollars for ship's outfitting. Leading by example, he skillfully implemented the ship's DCPO Program and Damage Control Training Team. He supervised and trained 1100 personnel in Damage Control that lead to the MAKIN ISLAND completing its INSURV with a 89%, LOA 100% in DC, ULTRA "E" 100% in DC, ULTRA "C" inspection with a 85%, and successful completion of 3M inspection averaging a 87%.
