DAMAGE CONTROLMAN FIRST CLASS TYSON LED A TEAM THAT MANAGED THE TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION PROCESS FOR 97 PERSONNEL RESULTING IN 23 ADVANCED QUALIFICATIONS. IN ADDITION, HE TAILORED A WATER SURVIVAL COURSE TO LOCAL CONDITIONS RESULTING IN SEVEN SAILORS EARNING THEIR BASIC CREWMAN QUALIFICATION. BY HIS EXCEPTIONAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER TYSON REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.

PETTY OFFICER GORE'S UNPARALLELED LEADERSHIP AND ORGANIZATIONAL ABILITIES WERE VITAL IN MAINTAINING THE UPKEEP AND CONDITION OF THE "IS" A SCHOOL BARRACKS. HER KEEN ATTENTION TO DETAIL WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR PRIORITIZING AND ADDRESSING OVER 300 TROUBLE CALLS, GREATLY IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR INITIAL ACCESSION STUDENTS. MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS COURSE SUPERVISOR FOR THE NETWORK SECURITY VULNERABILITIES TECHNICIAN COURSE AND COMMAND CAREER COUNSELOR AT THE CENTER FOR INFORMATION DOMINANCE LEARNING SITE SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA FROM ------- ---- TO ------- ----. PETTY OFFICER -------'S EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND GUIDANCE TO EIGHT INSTRUCTORS WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN PROVIDING HIGHLY TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION TO OVER 300 STUDENTS WHILE MAINTAINING A 100 PERCENT GRADUATION RATE. HE DEDICATED MORE THAN 50 HOURS TO THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF HOST BASED SECURITY CURRICULUM, INCORPORATING TOW LABS WHICH ALLOWED STUDENTS TO RECEIVE HANDS-ON TRAINING ON SECURING AND PREVENTING ATTACKS ON VITAL FLEET NETWORKS SYSTEMS. ADDITIONALLY, HE CONDUCTED 167 CAREER DEVELOPMENT BOARDS, PROCESSED 40 PERFORM TO SERVE APPLICATIONS, AND EXECUTED 32 REENLISTMENTS ACCRUING OVER 300,000 DOLLARS IN BONUSES. Officer In Charge, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Learning Site- Meridian, Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron One, Marine Aviation Training Support Group Twenty-One, Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi from 12 September 2010 to 14 December 2012. During this period, Master Sergeant Yarborough performed his duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner. Master Sergeant Yarborough implemented procedures effectively reducing Time to Train by 90% which directly contributed to a 71% reduction in misconduct rates and saved the Department of Defense $1.2 million per year. Spearheading a combined Marine and Navy staff, he successfully condensed submission timelines as he personally upgraded the curriculum from a self-paced format to a "blended solution". This improvement incorporated increased instructor led discussion and practical application, which provided better prepared Marines to the operational forces during a time of war. Above and beyond his expected billet description, Master Sergeant Yarborough was an integral asset in developing procedures to properly certify Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron One Instructors in any of three applicable levels. This has become the course standard and proved invaluable to the overall success of making a better academic program and a better prepared Marine. Master Sergeant Yarborough’s exceptional professional ability, leadership, and total devotion to duty reflected great credit upon him and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.

PETTY OFFICER BARROGA CONSISTENTLY PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. AS ONE OF THE LEAD INSTRUCTORS IN BECC, HE LED 7 CLASSES TOTALING 130 STUDENTS THIS YEAR. ALL HIS CLASSES HAVE STOOD OUT, ACHIEVING AN OVERALL CLASS GPA OF 84% AND AN OVERALL FIRST TIME PASS RATE OF 90%. ADDITIONALLY, HE VOLUNTEERED NUMEROUS HOURS OF OFF-DUTY TIME TO THE NORTHERN ILLINOIS FOOD BANK PACKAGING AND SORTING MEAT TO FEED UNDERPRIVILEGED FAMILIES IN THE NORTH CHICAGO AREA. HIS EXHAUSTIVE EFFORTS AND CONTINUOUS PURSUIT OF TRAINING EXCELLENCE RESULTED IN HIS SELECTION AS CENTER FOR NAVAL ENGINEERING LEARNING SITE, GREAT LAKES'S JUNIOR INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR FOR FY13. HE PROVIDED 488 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION RESULTING IN A 100% COURSE PASS RATE AND A 30% INCREASE IN NATIONAL REGISTRY QUALIFICATION. AS THE ASSISTANT LEADING PETTY OFFICER AND SUPPLY PETTY OFFICER IN THE MOST ACUTE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT IN THE NAVY, HE MANAGED THE $90,000 BUDGET AND ENSURED THE PROPER MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF 200 EQUIPMENT ITEMS VALUED AT $888,000. HM1 ------ WAS HAND SELECTED AS THE DIRECTOR OF MEDICAL SERVICES RETENTION TEAM ASSISTING IN THE COMPLETION OF 20 CAREER DEVELOPMENT BOARDS, 5 PERFORM TO SERVES, 4 REENLISTMENTS AND CMS ASSISTANCE. LIEUTENANT TOLKEIN CONSISTENTLY PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. DURING THIS PERIOD, LIEUTENANT TOLKEIN WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMMAND'S ANNUAL TRAINING AND OPERATIONAL BUDGET. FINALLY, HE COORDINATED WITH THE OPERATIONAL SUPPORT OFFICER AND SENIOR OFFICERS TO EXECUTE THE UNIT STRATEGIC PLAN AND THE FISCAL YEAR $1 MILLION DOLLAR FUNDING PLAN TO SUPPORT 33 UNIT MEMBERS FOR ALL TRAINING, OPERATIONS, AND COMMAND REQUIRED EXERCISES.
