INSURV Eval Examples


The INSURV Door Team conducted material inspections and surveys of the ship and provided detailed assessments of its material readiness to the Navy's senior leadership. Ensured that the ships of the Navy are equipped for sustained mission readiness at sea.




He spent countless hours preserving Main Engine Room #1 in preparation for a Board of Inspection and Survey inspection, and 80 more hours painting the Dome Equipment Room and Sonobuoy Storeroom, obtaining outstanding results during a zone inspection. His knowledgeable operation of the AN/SQQ-89(V)12 Sonar Suite earned greater than 90% during ASW 2.1-2.4.




As Operations Department Leading Chief, he oversaw corrective maintenance solutions for over 2,000 material items earning green scores across three divisions in Security, Operations, Deck, Habitability, and Safety during fiscal year 2017 Type Commander Material Inspection and Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV).




Supervised and mentored 13 Sailors in all preservation efforts on Yard Patrol Craft 684 and 692 for fiscal year 2020 INSURV Board of Inspection Survey. His exceptional leadership and resourcefulness during 480 man hours of labor saved the Navy over $135,000. His reports cemented a 100% passing score and yielded YP 684 "Fit for Further Naval Service."




As LCS 3 Trials Coordinator, he displayed exceptional leadership and management acumen, leading an integrated Government and Industry team through a very challenging second of class ship trial period. His efforts culminated in an extremely successful Acceptance Trial with the President of the Board of Inspection and Survey stating, "The ship performed well and this inspection was the most comprehensive LCS trial to date."
