Cryptologic Technician - Maintenance (CTM)


MASTER TECHNICIAN. As SSQ-130 technician, conducted 1,000 hours of troubleshooting and maintenance on the AN/SSQ-130 cryptologic system and ancillary equipment, to include the replacement of a faulty AS-4623 antenna during XXXXXX deployment. Repairs allowed for the collection of 1.6 million signals of interest and generation of 4,584 time sensitive reports for warfare commanders. Spearheaded the SSEE INC-F software upgrade efforts and replacement and reconfiguration of four blade centers.




- EXEMPLARY LEADER. As Communications Watch Officer, led 8 Sailors responsible for operating 140 high-bandwidth circuits supporting 3,100 users while correcting 201 trouble tickets, 37 circuit outages and the creation of 173 accounts supporting Commander, U.S. Third Fleet and subordinate commands. As install lead, led 3 Sailors in the refurbishment of XXX infrastructure; replacing XX feet of CAT-6 cable and installing two routers, six switches, XX assets to support XX students to allow for the growth of XX classes.
- RECOGNIZED EXPERT. As KMI Alternate, was responsible for the inventory and disposition of 117 pieces of cryptographic equipment with 100% accountability as well as the oversight of software upgrades to 27 JWICS TACLANES to improve network infrastructure and security. Dedicated 60 man-hours to providing monthly KMI training qualifying 6 Sailors on their Local Element (User) qualifications.
- COMMAND PRESENCE. Spearheaded a dynamic Sailor-360 program onboard by coordinating 6 command trainings for 150 man-hours on Navy policies initiatives. As a member of the diversity committee, led 3 Sailors in 6 multi-cultural ceremonies fostering cultural awareness and spotlighting the Cultural Champion Network amongst 32 Sailors.

- OUTSTANDING TRAINER. While troubleshooting workstations, routers, switches, DVTCs, and cryptographic devices, he provided training to 8 Sailors allowing for 16 trouble tickets to be closed. This resulted in Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC), Undersea Warfare Development Center, and Commander, U.S. Third Fleet to carry out operations in the Pacific Fleet Area of Operations.
- SUPERIOR TECHNICIAN. Worked seamlessly with 4 Sailors in the refurbishment of IWTC 3141 infrastructure; installed 3,500 feet of CAT-6 cable and 12 drops to expand their capabilities by increasing the number of JWICS systems available in classrooms. At Information Warfare Training Group Pacific, he configured and replaced their router allowing for the transition away from end of life equipment per JFARB requirements.

DEDICATED TRAINER. Provided 148 hours of technical systems training, troubleshooting, information warfare, and basic damage control training, to XX sailors both ashore and at sea. His efforts directly resulted in 10 qualified maintenance technicians and enabled five IWDSE team members to qualify in submarines.

Served as Information Warfare Direct Support Element (IWDSE) Team Leader at Navy Information Operations Detachment, Groton, Connecticut. He and a team of five technicians devoted over 800 man-hours to the coordination, installation, maintenance and certification of six IWDSE equipment suites onboard a U.S. Atlantic Fleet Combatant.

PROFICIENT TECHNICIAN. Expertly installed and cabled three Carry-On Cryptological Program (CCOP) systems, and removed one, totalling over 148 hours contributing to the Fleet Readiness of three Naval ships in support of National Tasking in numerous Areas Of Operation (AOR).

Designed and supervised the installation of a vital electrical conduit which expanded the overall capability and improved safety of the FES CCOP laboratory.

His keen troubleshooting skills led to the swift and full repair of four mission-critical systems, saving $100, 000 in parts and tech assistance and maintaining the highest state of combat readiness ISO Operation Unified Protector and Bataan ARG/22 MEU deployment.

Her technical competence was evident as she guided her workcenter to install, upgrade, and remove cryptologic carry-on program equipment for 12 Second Fleet platforms in support of the Global War on Terror.
