DECKPLATE LEADER. As LPO and WCS, she personally molded four junior sailors into a cohesive and dedicated team, successfully completing MOB-N Certification with a score of 96% and INSURV with a score of 94%, above the DDG class average.
SUPERB MARINER. She consistently provided the Navigator and OOD with precise and safe recommendations during 18 restricted waters transits, six Replenishments at Sea and over 15,000 NM of open ocean steaming. She diligently supervised the preparation of all Navigation requirements for the ships 2015 deployment to FIFTH Fleet AOR.
METICULOUS MANAGER. As Work Center Supervisor, her attention to detail was instrumental in NN01 workcenter receiving a perfect score of 100% during 3M 1.4 Certification, the highest of any workcenter onboard.

- SUPERIOR SME. As Chart PO, he used his extensive knowledge and troubleshooting efforts of an outdated Electronic Chart System to properly apply 1,422 chart corrections and edition updates to 81 charts. Expertly planned and executed 23 strait transits and 6 months of open ocean tracks to meet MTY's operational requirements resulting in safety of MTY and the Navy's largest arms bust during her C5F/C6F deployment.
- BUILDER OF NAVY'S FUTURE. QM1's invaluable navigation and training skills led to three QMOW and nine OOD Underway qualifications allowing the bridge to have an unheard of six section watch rotation. In addition, his ability to reach Sailors across the deckplates resulted in two OOD in-port qualifications and four POOW.
- CARRIER OF HONOR AND TRADITION. A member of MTY's Honor Guard, he supervised eight Sailors and facilitated training in Ceremonial Guard procedures to include military funerals, parading of colors, and passing of the Flag. His efforts enhanced MTY's drill capability and was pivotal in the professional execution of the FY22 Chief Petty Officer pinning, two retirement ceremonies and one memorial service in respect to MTY's own.

-DILIGENT MANAGER. PO2 directly contributed to the overall mission capability and readiness by supervising 24 junior Sailors in the preservation of over 21,460 square feet of departmental spaces. Trained 6 junior Sailors in 3M, governed over 3,256 pieces of essential equipment, and oversaw the completion of over 4,000 maintenance checks and 96% passing spot checks with zero mishaps to receive an 81% on 3MA inspection.
-DEDICATED TRAINER. He trained 65 junior Sailors in mission ready qualifications to include 2 WCSs, 2 RPPOs, 3 VMS operators, 4 QMOWs, and 24 Helm/Lee Helm watch standers. Trusted by many junior Sailors for personal and professional guidance.
-COMMAND ASSET. During COVID-19, QM2 supported his command in making over 300 masks during an unforeseeable demand in supplies. Established as the command's seamster, QM2 devoted his time in altering and tailoring more than 256 uniforms, directly assisting in maintaining the commands professionalism and military bearing. As MWR representative, he assisted in RIMPAC's command picnic and Halloween space decoration.

-PHENOMENAL LEADERSHIP. Flawlessly leads a department of 28 Sailors across two divisions in maintenance and training on Oil Spill Response (OSR) boats, Harbor Security Boats (HSB) and ancillary equipment, delivering fully mission capable equipment to support OSR and AT/FP readiness. His training led to qualifying six Sailors in key watch stations resulting in 22 incident free ship movements.
-EXCEPTIONAL MENTOR. His devotion to professional development of junior Sailors and peers alike is clearly reflected through their qualifications, advancements and recognition including two JSOQs, one BJOQ,two NAM's and two MOVSM's. -COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. As an active member of the community, he volunteered 120 off duty hours to the local Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla conducting patrols on the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers to ensure the strict compliance of rules of the road, increasing community relations.

Was critical to the success of MOB-N, Crew Cert, and Ready for Sea Assessments through 100% demonstrations with zero discrepancies of Navigation lights, AN/SAT 2A, Yardarm Blinkers, four Search lights and Filters, and five Multipurpose Lights. Additionally, assisted technicians in critical troubleshooting and repair efforts of the AN/SAT 2A prior to MOB-N. His dedication led to an outstanding 98% MOB-N certification, Crew cert, and Ready for Sea assessment.
-COMMAND IMPACT. Was crucial in the planning and execution of 14 aloft evolutions to rig and prepare the ship for six full dress ship occasions, oversight of the replacement of the ship's whistle, and splicing of replacement span wires. His hard work helped improve GERMANTOWN's operational readiness and image within 7th Fleet.
-DEDICATED TRAINER. As Navigation department Training Petty Officer, he orchestrated 52 departmental trainings for a total of 56 hours. In addition he led 48 duty section personnel in 6 training topics, provided Lookout training to nine watch standers and trained 12 duty section personnel in Petty Officer of the Watch. His devotion to training led to the completion of 46 PQS for 21 sailors.

-Superb Trainer. From July 18 to April 19, QM3 XXXXXXXX lead her division to 100% topic completion, comprised of over 120 topics given to Officers, Chiefs, and Junior Sailors. She is a dedicated trainer, who when she sees that another sailor does not understand, will take the time to change the way it is being taught so that others will learn.
- Growing Leader. QM3 has demonstrated that she can lead other sailors to accomplish tasks and qualifications. She has helped re-qualify two sailors as QMOW and helped another sailor achieve their QMOW for the first time.
Petty Officer XXXX is a motivated and exceptionally talented First Class Petty Officer. An experienced and confident LPO continually demonstrates his knowledge in all aspects of his rating, and ensured safety and productivity of Navigation Dept.
-INSPIRES TOP PERFORMANCE. Vital asset during BHR's ISIC Navigation Assessment. QM1 XXX prepared all MOB-N expected items and drilled his team on knowledge exams, earning BONHOMME RICHARD 98% for administration, and passing all STT drills with an 89%. Making all watch standers more proficient and alert during any evolution.
-MISSION ORIENTATED. During fall cruise 2016 Petty Officer XXXX assisted in planning and Navigating BHR through 10 Sea and Anchor details. Resulted in safe, mishap free passages, sailing over 35,000 NM. During OPERATION SSANG YONG QM1 Lenerville cooperated with Combat with 5 LCAC operations by plotting their tracks in VMS, for safe planning.
-SAILORIZATION/TRAINING. Conducts countless training with the INPORT Duty Section on honors and ceremonies, safety, POOW, and OOD. With his expert knowledge QM1 XXXXX tested 15 junior sailors and qualified 5 Officer of the Deck's.
QM1 XXX is a true advocate of tradition, loyalty and has a strong knowledge on Naval heritage. Continually learning on leadership and management, with more mentoring will be a strong Chief Petty Officer.

While serving as DCPO and Chart Petty Officer for NN01 divison, Petty Exley exhibited professionalism and pride, completing all tasks in a timely manner with flawless execution.
Provided accurate speed and distance inputs to senior officials for briefs on time-sensitive, high interest vessels entering and departing COMFIFTHFLT AOR.
Oversaw the safe movement and transit of over 250 harbor movements, 40 diving operations, and various other small boat training in the harbor. She updated harbor movesheets, ships present list, projected movements, and other documents that provide vital information for the fleet.
As Quartermaster in Costal Riverine Squadron 3, Petty Officer Swanson's navigational expertise and attention to detail was instrumental in Costal Riverine Squadron 3's 2017 deployment, where he successfully performed 147 missions as navigation Radio Telephone Operator and Mark VI navigator. He also helped in standing up Coastal Riverine Squadron's navigation department and organized and corrected over 300 charts covering 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 7th fleet areas of operation.
