Corporal Daniel JimenezMaganda is nominated with utmost enthusiasm for the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in recognition of his meritorious service as a Network Administrator while serving with the Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) Support Platoon, 7th Communication Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, and the Marine Air Ground Task Force Network Operations Center, III Marine Expeditionary Force, from August 2022 to June 2025. Throughout this period, Corporal JimenezMaganda consistently exhibited exceptional leadership qualities, unparalleled technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to achieving excellence in all facets of his assigned responsibilities, as set forth in the following paragraphs.

In February 2023, Corporal JimenezMaganda assumed the role of Networking Chief for the Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) Platoon, traditionally held by Staff Non-Commissioned Officers. His leadership and mentorship significantly improved the proficiency, readiness, and efficiency of the MEB Platoon Data Systems and Networking section His dedication to cultivating a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement significantly bolstered the effectiveness of mission accomplishment. Moreover, Corporal JimenezMaganda made invaluable contributions to the planning and execution of logistical elements, manpower allocation, and overall mission success.

During his tenure as Networking Chief, Corporal JimenezMaganda directly supervised over 70 Marines and maintained the accountability and maintenance of $3,544,400 worth of Networking and Data systems devices, $145,000 worth of Classified Material Control Center (CMCC) hard drives, and $189,300 worth of encryption devices. With the future always in mind, Corporal JimenezMaganda recognized that he could make the accountability of gear more efficient and streamlined. He took the initiative to develop and organize master gear databases. These databases served as trackers and, on several occasions, were used as a baseline during Consolidated Memorandums of Receipt (CMRs) and Battalion Maintenance Stand-downs (MSD). During this time, he coordinated 2000 Limited Technical Inspections and 100 modifications on switching and routing gear, resulting in the identification and replacement of over $3,000 in missing or damaged devices and Stock List-3 components. He also directly coordinated with the Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) Clerk for the successful transfer and disposition of over $450,000 in gear to the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO).

While serving as the Networking Chief, Corporal JimenezMaganda significantly contributed to changing and boosting 7th Communication Battalion's reputation across the MEF as expert communicators, masterfully supervising and operating during multiple support missions for the MEB and various MEF-level exercises and operations. His invaluable knowledge and experience within his MOS were greatly validated when the MEB Platoon experienced an influx of operations. He expertly managed the increased workload with little drop in productivity, allowing for focus and preparation to be pivoted to the Strap Exercises (StrapEx) for the upcoming Operations Azure Dragon, Resolute Dragon 23.1 and .2, and the MEB Ie Shima "Ferry Away".

During the StrapEx and Execution periods for Operation Resolute Dragon, spanning from 11 September 2023 to 31 October 2023, Corporal JimenezMaganda displayed exceptional professionalism, tireless dedication, and unwavering commitment to duty. He directly ensured the success of four critical sites: the Kengun Bi-lateral Ground Operational Coordination Center (BGOCC) and Exercise Control Center (EXCON), the Combined Arms Staff Trainer (CAST), and the Battle Staff Training Facility (BSTF). During this process, Corporal JimenezMaganda's attention to detail and knowledge of networking assisted greatly. While troubleshooting, he identified a significant misconfiguration error in the documentation provided by Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA), which was causing conflicts within the Non-Secure Internet Protocol Routing (NIPR) Network, Secure Internet Protocol Routing (SIPR) Network, and Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System Japan (CENTRIX-J) kits. Through his unwavering commitment and over 336 hours of troubleshooting, Corporal JimenezMaganda successfully resolved these conflicts, ensuring seamless communication for over 700 users and enabling communication to over xxx thousand U.S. and Coalition Service Members on the NIPR, SIPR, and CENTRIX-J networks.

In the execution period of Resolute Dragon, Corporal JimenezMaganda displayed unprecedented leadership and technical ability. He spearheaded elements to include logistics, manpower allocation between sites, and a 20 Marine helpdesk support team at the local CAST site. He meticulously recorded and accounted for over $200,000 in Networking and Data systems devices, $200,000 in CMCC, and $79,200 worth of encryption devices. With his direct supervision, his helpdesk team provided services that included Video Teleconference Machines (VTC), voice utilizing Voice over IP phones (VoIP), email exchange, and internet services utilizing laptops. He also supervised and actioned over 800 trouble tickets for the III MEF staff. Furthermore, Corporal JimenezMaganda implemented the experimental satellite mission equipment, Star Shield, to establish and maintain connectivity with Fort Bucker. This feat resulted in the seamless rollover of the mode of network transport after an island-wide fiber outage and 10 hours of uninterrupted communication for over 400 end devices.

Following the end of Operation Resolute Dragon in September 2023, Corporal Jimenez recognized the ability to mitigate stress and risk for the MEB Support Platoon in future operations at the CAST. He collaborated with the III MEF Tactical Exercise Control Group (TECG) and requested the floor diagrams containing the active ports throughout the building. He implemented a system that was shared among the battalion that made the deployment of assets more concise and organized. He also suggested the installation and implementation of a persistent tactical heavy kit to be installed and maintained in the CAST. This innovative line of thinking would ultimately result in the ability to establish services exponentially faster during future operations.

In April 2024, Corporal JimenezMaganda transferred to the MAGTF Network Operations Center (MNOC), III MEF Command Element. During his tenure as a network administrator, he quickly adapted to the higher echelon of communication and contributed greatly to the MNOC's mission. He assisted in configuring, installing, and maintaining networking devices accessing the Black Core Transport (BCTN) and CENTRIXS-J and K Transport Network infrastructure across the MEF. His responsibilities included monitoring network outages and security risks using the Palo Alto Firewall System and the Solarwinds network monitoring software. Corporal JimenezMaganda also directly reviewed the networking configurations and infrastructure for over 200 operations and exercises for garrison and tactical deployed kits. This level of supervision directly impacted adjacent and subordinate units' abilities to employ Command and Control, spanning countries including Japan, Korea, Guam, the Philippines, and the United States.

Corporal JimenezMaganda has made a lasting impact that has been felt across the MEF. His tireless efforts to develop and support the Marines under him have been shown in the results of 7th Communication Battalion's proficiency in deploying Command and Control (C2) across the Indo-Pacific Region. Corporal JimenezMaganda's actions reflect great credit upon himself and are in perfect alignment with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service. Corporal JimenezMaganda has done a great service to the battalion and is greatly deserving of recognition by personal award, and I enthusiastically recommend him for the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
