WHILE EMBEDDED WITH THE AFGHAN NATIONAL ARMY, HOSPITALMAN SECOND CLASS BRASWELL DEVELOPED A MEDICAL EMERGENCY COURSE FOR ELEVEN AFGHAN NATIONAL ARMY SOLDIERS WHICH IMPROVED THEIR OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES AND THEIR CAPACITY FOR INDEPENDENT OPERATIONS. HE PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO THE AFGHAN NATIONAL ARMY MEDICS DURING THREE MASS CASUALTY EVENTS IN THE DELARAM AREA. DISPLAYING AN ALERT BUT CALM DEMEANOR, HM2 BRASWELL ENSURED THE TIMELY MEDICAL TREATMENT OF 34 INDIVIDUALS. DURING OPERATION OMED, HM2 BRASWELL EXEMPLIFIED THE PROFESSIONALISM THAT IS EXPECTED OF MILITARY MEDICS BY MEDICALLY SCREENING AND TREATING 13 DETAINEES TAKEN INTO CUSTODY BY THE AFGHAN NATIONAL ARMY. PETTY OFFICER BRASWELL'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, PERSONAL INITIATIVE, AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS SENIOR ENLISTED MEDICAL ADVISOR FOR NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE GROUP THREE (NSWG-3) FROM JANUARY 2012 TO NOVEMBER 2012. SENIOR CHIEF HOSPITAL CORPSMAN ROGERS DISTINGISHED HIMSELF IN A HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND SEAMLESSLY HANDLED COMMAND LEVEL MEDICAL ISSUES THROUGHOUT HIS TENURE. HE LED 44 MEDICAL PROVIDERS AND ENSURED ALL QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS FOR 16 INDEPENDENT DUTY CORPSMEN WERE ADEQUATELY MAINTAINED, RESULTING IN SUPERB PATIENT CARE AND ADEQUATE DEPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS. ADDITIONALLY, HE ORGANIZED AND SUPERVISED TECHNICAL ASSIST VISITS FOR TWO SUBORDINATE MEDICAL DEPARTMENTS RESULTING IN ZERO MAJOR MEDICAL DISCREPANCIES DURING INSPECTIONS AND AN OVERALL MEDICAL READINESS OF 93 PERCENT. SENIOR CHIEF ROGERS' NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PERSEVERANCE AND DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS MEDICAL ADVISOR AT NAVAL MOBILE CONSTRUCTION BATTALION TWO THREE FROM AUGUST 2011 TO AUGUST 2013. DURING THIS ASSIGNMENT, PETTY OFFICER REYNOLDS PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTING THE MEDICAL READINESS AND TRAINING PLAN FOR THE BATTALION. HIS MANAGEMENT OF THE LINE OF DUTY (LOD) PROGRAM CULMINATED IN THE REDUCTION IN DELINQUENT LOD DETERMINATIONS BY 70% THROUGH EXTENSIVE AND DIRECT LIAISON WITH NAVAL OPERATIONAL SUPPORT CENTERS. ADDITONALLY, THESE ACTIONS CONTRIBUTED TO A 10% INCREASE IN OVERALL BATTALION MEDICAL READINESS WHICH RESULTED IN AN EXCELLENT RATING DURING THE FY 12 OPERATIONAL READINESS INSPECTION. PETTY OFFICER REYNOLDS' EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE, AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS MEDICAL LEADING CHIEF PETTY OFFICER AND ACTING SENIOR ENLISTED MEDICAL ADVISOR FOR NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE GROUP THREE FROM OCTOBER TO 2009 TO NOVEMBER 2012. CHIEF PETTY OFFICER NELSON'S DEVOTION TO DELIVERING THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF MEDICAL CARE RESULTED IN AN OUTSTANDING GRADE FROM WARFARE COMMAND'S MEDICAL READINESS INSECTION. IN ADDITION, HIS KEEN OVERSIGHT AND EXCEPTIONAL MANAGERIAL SKILLS AS PRESIDENT OF THE CHIEF PETTY OFFICER'S MESS ENSURED A FLAWLESS EXECUTION OF FOUR RETIREMENT CEREMONIES AND TWO CPO INDOCTRINATIONS AND RAISED OVER $10,000 FOR THE MESS. FURTHER, CHIEF NELSON WAS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND A STRINGENT FITNESS ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM THAT RESULTED IN AN UNPRECEDENTED 100 PERCENT PHYSICAL FITNESS ASSESSMENT PASS RATE. CHIEF PETTY OFFICER NELSON'S NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PERSEVERANCE AND DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




MERITORIOUS ACHIEVEMENT WHILE SERVING AS MEDICAL ADVISOR, KANDAK SECURITY FORCE ASSISTANCE ADVISOR TEAM, BRIGADE HEADQUARTERS GROUP-AFGHANISTAN FROM JULY 2013 TO JUNE 2014 IN SUPPORT OF OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. DURING THIS PERIOD, CHIEF PETTY OFFICER HASTINGS WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE 5TH KANDAK INDEPENDENTLY TRAINING ITS SOLDIERS IN COMBAT LIFE-SAVER SKILLS, PROVIDING OUTPATIENT TREATMENT FOR OVER 2,000 SOLDIERS AND DELIVERING COMBAT CASUALTY CARE TO 39 WOUNDED IN ACTION. CHIEF HASTINGS PROVIDED MORE THAN 20 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION ON "7-LINE" AIR REQUEST PROCEDURES AND SUPERVISED 12 WEEKLY MEDICAL EVACUATION REHEARSALS WHICH REDUCED RESPONSE TIMES FROM 60 TO 10 MINUTES. THIS LED TO THE FIRST SUCCESSFUL USE OF AFGHAN MI-17 AIR SUPPORT TO MEDICALLY EVACUATE CASUALTIES FOR THE 4TH BRIGADE AND 215TH CORPS. CHIEF HASTINGS' TECHNICAL SKILLS AND VERSATILITY IN AN AUSTERE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT CONTRIBUTED SIGNIFICANTLY TO AND FUNDAMENTALLY ENABLED THE LONG-TERM SELF-SUSTAINABILITY OF THE AFGHAN NATIONAL ARMY. CHIEF PETTY OFFICER HASTINGS' NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PERSEVERANCE AND DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS THE SENIOR MEDICAL ADVISOR FOR USSOUTHCOM COORDINATION LIAISON ASSESSMENT TEAM, MARINE CORPS SECURITY COOPERATION GROUP FROM MARCH 2011 TO APRIL 2014. DISPLAYING EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE, PETTY OFFICER WHITE DEVELOPED, ORGANIZED, AND INSTRUCTED TACTICAL MEDICAL COURSES FOR PARTNER NATIONS WHICH REQUIRED DEPLOYING TO ISRAEL, CAMEROON, PANAMA, PERU, GUATIMALA, EL SALVADOR, AND BELIZE IN ORDER TO ASSESS, FACILITATE, AND INSTRUCT. HIS ACTIONS HELPED TO INCREASE THE PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE OF AND RAPPORT WITH PARTNER NATION FORCES AND MAINTAIN POSITIVE MILITARY TO MILITARY RELATIONS. ADDITIONALLY, HE ACTED AS THE LEADING CORPSMAN FOR A NORTHCOM EVENT WITH THE MEXICAN MARINE CORPS, DURING WHICH HE COORDINATED WITH ALL SUPPORTING MEDICAL FACILITIES AND PERSONNEL AND SERVED AS LIAISON, INSTRUCTOR, AND ESCORT FOR 85 MEXICAN MARINE OFFICERS DURING THE MONTH LONG EXERCISE.
