DEDICATED TO DUTY. Assisted 11 providers in 1,820 patient encounters. He completed 100 bilirubin checks, 20 wart removals, 100 throat cultures, 50 nebulizer treatments, and 10 electrocardiograms aiding in the successful diagnosis of the pediatric population, aiding in meeting the command benchmark of over 90% compliance for acute pediatric treatment.

SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT. As the go to pediatric corpsman, he trained 30 personnel on proper intake and documentation of patient encounters, laying the foundation for providing outstanding patient care. As the divisional patient information security officer, he oversaw the proper disposal of all documents containing patient information for 11 providers and 40 support staff, resulting in full compliance with the privacy act.

COMMAND ASSET. Assisted in the command's annual corpsman challenge as an overseer for the nine-line medevac station, and devoted three off duty hours in ensuring the success for the 2015 taste of the island diversity event. His efforts increased morale, pride and cultural awareness among peers, positively impacting the command.




She managed the Pediatric Clinic as the lead technician, training 4 medical technicians, enabling the screening of 19 EFMP medical clearances and 4,353 appointments. She enhanced the patient check-in process by revising patient screening forms, streamlining documentation of acute care needs, wellness requirements, and child growth and development. She boosted Pediatric services by initiating 630 additional visits, expanding 3 exam rooms, and increasing child well-visits by 80%. As the NCOIC, she facilitated care for 5 providers across 5 clinics and 22K beneficiaries. Additionally, she guided 23 virtual and 40 in-person appointments by coordinating with three Pediatric Developmental and Behavioral Health Providers at Kadena Air Base. Furthermore, she dedicated 200 off-duty hours as a score keeper and field medic for 3 sports, promoting teamwork and fostering a spirit of camaraderie, cementing Osan Air Base's reputation as an "assignment of choice" for 1.2K military families. Her achievements and contributions are indicative of her commitment to the well-being of patients, the success of her colleagues, and devotion to her community.




Within the 6 months of joining Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP), assisted in the care of 1,362 pediatrics, newborn, and adolescent patients covering the Pediatrics Medical Homeport and Newborn Clinic. In Medical Homeport, screened 1,108 patients, in every visit, documenting vital signs, growth charts, HPI, and verified allergies, past medical history, medications currently taking. Assisted with ear irrigation for 13 patients and administered immunization shots to 38 patients. In Newborn Clinic, checked in 254 patients from 3 to 16 days old. In every visit, ensured quality care is continued after leaving the nursery. Documented vital signs and weight gain and obtained transcutaneous bilirubin levels for all 254 patients and performed 67 heel puncture procedures to obtain capillary blood samples for neonatal bilirubin measurements.




General Duty Corpsman, Pediatrics Department. Served as support staff for 20 physicians, 10 nurse practitioners, and 15 civilian nurses. Provided quality patient care to 13,000 pediatric enrollees at a rate of 250 outpatient encounters daily. Authored the SOP for Pulmonary function testing, allowing six tri-west clinics to provide same day care and treatment for respiratory illnesses. Updated the outdated Command Asthma Registry with new codes that were previously missed, allowing health care providers easier access, and an updated tracker for BUMED HEDIS marker. Authored and maintained the General Pediatrics PFT Clinic, training 6 corpsman and 10 nurses in spirometry, and seeing over 5k patients consistently over 3 years.




General duty corpsman at Pediatrics, Naval Hospital Okinawa. HN assisted nine providers and three nurses in providing world class health care to over 5,400 patients and completing over 21,000 flawless procedures to include over 1,152 nebulizer treatments and 1,332 EKGs. HN was selected as one of two corpsmen in the command to be part of the Root cause analysis team. As a member of the root cause analysis team, HN identified discrepancies in the command policy and standard operating procedure for obtaining bilirubin. HN devoted over 120 hours to process improvement and his persistence rectified all discrepancies and established a new policy and standard operating procedure (SOP) for obtaining bilirubin that is now being implemented throughout NHOKI, providing a safer patient environment and high quality of patient care navy wide.




Assistant Leading Petty Officer, Department of Pediatrics, Directorate for Medicine, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. Hospital Corpsman Third Class demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative and commitment in developing and implementing improvements, resulting in optimization of patient care, staff productivity and clinic operations. Took charge of three active duty and two civilians, resulting in two advancements. Increased access to care for one of the busiest departments in the command, reducing wait times from five weeks to three weeks, resulting in improved patient care.
