KMI Manager Evals


Automated data processing technician for Tactical Operations Center Kaneohe Bay. Performed over 1820 hours troubleshooting faults with Tacmobile 2.1.1 system and subsystem ensuring full mission capabilities of the system. As KMI manager, provided KMI training to 20 sailors on proper handling of KMI assets and successfully conducted six KMI CO spot checks with zero discrepancies. Maintained Tactical Operations Center SPRITE inventories with 100% accountability of 37 classified items valued at $540K. In preparation for RIMPAC 2018, dedicated 108 off-duty hours repairing C4I, ESS, P-8, P-3, and IPVTC faults, ensuring CTF-172 and CTG 172.1 mission readiness one week ahead of schedule.




IT2 oversaw the command's EKMS account, ensuring 100% compliance with National Security Agency Regulations. He assisted the Commanding Officer in conducting 26 Communications Material Spot Checks with zero discrepancies and led the command's transition from EKMS to KMI programs.




Led amd trained 11 Sailors in the installation of the CANES network consisting of 235 assets across five enclaves. As KMI account manager, he dedicated 97 hours to initial system installation, SPIN 2 upgrade and training requirements, resulting in the establishment of one local element and maintaining 272 line items.




Serving at Sector Columbia River. After qualifying as a Communication Unit (CU) watchstander and Situation Unit controller, sought additional responsibility by becoming the lead PO of the CU desk. As CU desk lead, he volunteered over 150 off-duty hours to the training and qualification of 26 watchstanders. Volunteered as EKMS/KMI alternate account manager and oversaw its completion for 9 accounts and 60 inventory items classified up to secret. Provided invaluable knowledge in the deployment of Mobile User Objective Service (MUOS) satellite service and acted as KMI custodian for its use.




Local Element Custodian for Operations department. IT1 had ZERO hits on 4 CO's KMI spot checks and 1 admin hit on KMI COR Audit inspection over the second largest local element account for NAVCOMTELSTA BAHRAIN. IT1 was directly responsible for N3 Department's daily operations of COMSEC training, accounting, keying material, and equipment. IT1 led a team of over 100 enlisted junior and senior Sailors through 15 New month evolutions. Under his leadership, NAVCOMTELSTA BAHRAIN consistently maintained a 100% completion rate for all New month loads with almost no down time to EHF, SHF, or UHF circuits.




As the KMI program manager, she was integral for establishing three COMSEC handling and security command directives, EAP, and EDP. While the USS Ronald Reagan and the USS Shiloh was embarked, she was responsible for over 100 COMSEC material items with 100% accountability. She successfully passed 15 spot checks with no discrepancies.




As Detachment Alpha's Communications Security Material System (CMS) and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) account manager, Gunnery Sergeant was accountable for more than 170 Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) which included encryption management, logistical processing of all CCI assets, processing of End-of-Life Cycle replacement to ensure continuous usage of cryptographic requirements, and cyclic auditing of the KMI and MCS process directly to the Commanding Officer. This billet also required the close coordination with the MACG-48 and MFR KMI Managers to ensure all cryptographic fill devices and short titles were maintained and purged within the correct timelines. During this duration, the squadron received zero COMSEC incidents.
