Sole Medical Department Representative (SMDR)


Key Accomplishments & Contributions:

-Deployed Medical Leadership: Selected as the Sole Medical Department Representative (SMDR) for a critical SOUTHCOM deployment. Expertly managed the health and wellness of all 14 personnel and getting them fully medically ready in three days. Enabling the detachment to maintain peak operational readiness with zero medical evacuations.

-Force Multiplier through Training: Spearheaded the command's medical readiness training by personally instructing and certifying 40 sailors in CPR/AED and qualifying 80 sailors in Individual Combat Skills (ICS). Your direct leadership ensured 100% compliance with mission-critical life-saving qualifications.

-Expert Oversight in High-Risk Evolutions: As the lead medical expert during high-risk training, 183 hours of range coverage at Fort Barfoot, 13 hours of range coverage for the indoor range and outdoor range on JEB Little Creek, and 3 hours of SRF Bravo coverage. My vigilance and expertise were instrumental in the safe expenditure of over 300,000 rounds of ammunition with zero personnel injuries, directly enabling the weapons qualification of the entire command.

-Exceptional Resource Management: Demonstrated exceptional fiscal responsibility by meticulously managing a pharmaceutical inventory valued at over $23,000, ensuring zero waste and 100% availability of critical medications.

-Dedicated Mentorship: Took the initiative to personally mentor 21 newly reported sailors, seamlessly integrating them into the command and connecting them with vital resources to ensure mission readiness and personal success.

-Superior Sailor Care: Played a vital role in the Medical Department's nomination for the prestigious Green H and Blue H awards for CYCLE 2026. Directly contributed by assisting in 57 sick call encounters and various medical screenings, ensuring high-quality healthcare for all hands.

Watch standing duties:

-As the command's dedicated Duty Corpsman, maintained unwavering 24/7 readiness for MSRON-4, serving continuous seven-day periods. This critical role involved constant vigilance with the duty phone, providing immediate medical guidance, triage, and direct emergency response to ensure the health, safety, and operational readiness of all personnel.


Individual accomplishments:

-Checked in 2 new corpsmen into MSRON-4 checked in, ensuring their check-in process was carefully articulated to maximize efficiency and getting our new Docs on board.

Responsibilities for classified materials:

-As duty corpsman, I'm responsible for sending DRSI to the COB that contains classified PII, to ensure the Triad is informed with critically accurate information every day.


Supervision and Leadership:

-Conducted inspections on food prep and events to ensure food is prepared the proper way to mitigate food borne illness outbreaks.

-Conducted over 30 hours of in person CPR/AED test outs and having 2 HM3s UI under me to accurately train them to become instructors.
