BY HIS EXCEPTIONAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER HASSELHOF REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




FOR HEROIC ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS RADAR BRANCH CHIEF AND COMMAND DUTY OFFICER AT FLEET AREA CONTROL SURVEILLANCE FACILITY, VIRGINIA CAPES ON JANUARY 15, 2014. ON THIS OCCASION, AC1 HERCULES' OUTSTANDING MANAGERIAL ABILITY, PROFESSIONAL ACUMEN, AND ASTUTE LEADERSHIP WERE PIVOTAL IN THE SUCCESSFUL RECOVERY OF A SEVERELY INJURED F18 PILOT. UNPROMPTED AND WITHOUT THE COAST GUARD'S IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE, AC1 HERCULES ORCHESTRATED THE SEARCH AND RESCUE EFFORTS THROUGH CHAMBERS FIELD HELIPORT TOWER. IN ADDITION, HE SUCCESSFULLY COORDINATED A SAR CAPABLE H60 WHICH WAS IMMEDIATELY DISPATCHED TO RECOVER THE INJURED PILOT OUT OF 43 DEGREE WATERS. MOREOVER, HE CONTACTED NORFOLK SENTRA GENERAL TO HAVE PHYSICIANS ON STANDBY TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR THE PILOT. PETTY OFFICER HERCULES' EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING PERSEVERANCE AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS COMMAND DUTY OFFICER AT NAVAL RADIO TRANSMITTER FACILITY (NRTF), NISCEMI FROM JUNE 2014 TO JULY 2017. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER HILL PERFORMED HIS DUTIES IN A HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL AND EXEMPLARY MANNER. HE WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MANAGEMENT, CONFIGURATION, AND OPERATION OF 23 HIGH FREQUENCY SCOPE TRANSMITTERS, ONE AN/FRT-95A LOW FREQUENCY TRANSMITTER, AND THE MOBILE USER OBJECTIVE SYSTEM (MUOS). IN ADDITION, HE OVERSAW OVER 400,000 DOLLARS IN SECURITY UPGRADES AND REPAIRS TO THE NRTF PERIMITER AND EQUIPMENT WHICH WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN IMPROVING SECURITY AND AVOIDING INTERNATIONAL INCIDENTS DURING A TIME OF CIVIL UNREST AND MORE THAN 28 PROTESTS BY OVER 5,000 INDIVIDUALS. FINALLY, PETTY OFFICER HILL HOSTED FIVE HIGH PRIORITY VISITS, MAINTAINED MEDICAL READINESS AT 95 PERCENT, AND ESTABLISHED A FALL PROTECTION PROGRAM THAT ESTABLISHED A NEW RESCUE PLAN USING LOCAL NATIONALS. BY HIS UNSWERVING DETERMINATION, WISE JUDGEMENT AND COMPLETE DEDICATION TO DUTY PETTY OFFICER HILL REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN THE "AVERAGE" PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS A COMMAND DUTY OFFICER IN THE MIDST OF THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC. SERGEANT KELSO DEMONSTRATED A HIGH TOLERANCE FOR BULLSHIT AND EVER CHANGING REPORTING REQUIREMENTS IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY AND AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS AND REPORTS. IN ADDITION, HE FACILITATED THE COMPLETION OF OVER 4,000 COVID REPORTS AS WELL AS OVER 1,000 ROLLUP REPORTS THAT WERE MOST LIKELY NEVER READ. SERGEANT KELSO'S ABILITY TO COMPLETE MONOTONOUS AND MEANINGLESS REPORTS, ROLLUPS, AND TRACKERS REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF UNRECOGNIZED SERVICE.




ASSISTANT COMMAND DUTY OFFICER AND BRIEF TEAM LEADING PETTY OFFICER FOR OPERATIONS DIRECTORATE, COMMANDER, U.S. PACIFIC FLEET FROM JULY 2018 TO JUNE 2021. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER BERRY PERFORMED HER DEMANDING DUTIES IN A HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL AND EXEMPLARY MANNER. SHE METICULOUSLY PROCESSED MORE THAN 1,500 CRITICAL OPERATIONAL REPORTS AND 180 TIME SENSITIVE MESSAGES, PROVIDING VITAL AND TIMELY INFORMATION TO COMMANDER, U.S. PACIFIC FLEET AND HIS STAFF. ADDITIONALLY, SHE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FLAWLESS EXECUTION OF 234 MARITIME OPERATIONS AND INTELLIGENCE BRIEFS, 123 COMMANDER'S UPDATES AND FUTURE OPERATIONS PLANS BRIEFS, AND 170 VIDEO TELECONFERENCES, ENHANCING SITUATIONAL AWARENESS ACROSS THE FLEET, STAFF, AND SUBORDINATE COMMANDS. BY HER NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND DEVOTION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER BERRY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
