DEMONSTRATING UNPARALLELED MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP, LT MAZZEO WAS INTEGRAL IN ENSURING REACTOR PROPULSION DIVISION COMPLETED ALL MAINTENANCE AND KEY EVENTS REQUIRED FOR COLD PLANT TESTING, SUCCESSFULLY LEADING THEM THROUGH SIX TYPE COMMANDER INSPECTIONS AND A FLEET FORCES EXAMINATION. ADDITIONALLY, AS DEPUTY REACTOR TRAINING ASSISTANT, SHE PROVIDED CRUCIAL TRAINING TO ONE HUNDRED WATCH STANDERS, CURATING COMPLEX DRILL SETS AND RAISING DEPARTMENTAL LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE THROUGH A COMPRESSED SHIPYARD AVAILABILITY. 2. Revised U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Policy for Safeguards and Security of Naval Special Nuclear Material, modernizing national policy consistent with updates to intelligence threat assessments.

3. Spearheaded merge of maritime nuclear and non-nuclear emergency management organizations, integrating response frameworks to better understand regionally shared resources, reduce demands on external partners, and improve data acquisition in early-stage emergency response.

4. Assisted the Deputy Secretary of the Navy for Safety on maritime energized electrical work, preserving the Navy's ability to conduct shipboard nuclear maintenance after an OSHA citation.

5. Co-chaired a high-profile security inspection following confirmed espionage, enhancing physical, cyber, and counterintelligence measures and significantly reducing the likelihood of future security breaches.

6. Trained 300+ senior shipyard and national laboratory managers in National Response Framework (NRF) and Radiological Emergency Response principles resulting in integration into nuclear/radiological responses.

7. Authorized the declassification of records related to the loss of the USS Scorpion (SSN 589), leading to the most comprehensive public release of information since the loss.
